Mexican Hot Chocolate (Chocolate Caliente)


  • 4 cups whole milk or water
  • 2 tablets (3 oz. each) Mexican chocolate, broken into chunks


  1. Combine milk or water and chocolate in a pot and place over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir continuously to completely dissolve chocolate.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Using a hand blender, mix liquid until foamy, about 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.

Yields:  4 servings
