Kuhano Vino

Ingredients:

  • 10 whole cloves
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 4 star anise, plus more for garnish
  • 4 cups red wine
  • 14 cup honey
  • 12 tsp. grated nutmeg
  • Peel of 2 oranges
  • Orange slices, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Heat cloves, peppercorns, and star anise in a 2-qt. saucepan over medium-high until toasted, 1–2 minutes.
  2. Add red wine, honey, nutmeg, orange peels, and 2 cups water; boil.
  3. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Serve in mugs.
  5. Garnish with orange slices and star anise.

Yields:  2 – 4 servings
