Mulled Wine

1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups boiling water
half a lemon, thinly sliced

3 cinnamon sticks
3 whole cloves
1 bottle red dinner wine (burgundy or claret)

Directions:

  1. Dissolve sugar in boiling water in saucepan.
  2. Add remaining ingredients
  3. Pour into slow cooker. Heat on Low for at least 1 hour, until wine is hot. Do not boil.
  4. Serve from cooker into mugs.

Prep Time: 8-10 Minutes
Cooking Time: 1 Hour
Ideal Slow Cooker Size: 3-4 Quart

Yields: 8 1-cup Servings
